Mount Gambier Golf Club Inc

Golf in the crater-lake city of Mt Gambier
Attamurra Road, Mt Gambier, SA, Australia, 5290

Mount Gambier Golf Club is halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide on National Highway One. The course is 6012 metres with a par of 71, and is often recognised in Australia's Top 100 courses. The club is found on Attamurra Road, about 5 km from Mount Gambier City Centre, on what was once sand dunes. Many of the holes on this rolling course are played from elevated tees. The fairways are lush and tree lined, the greens are large, challenging and true. The course is well bunkered and conditions are usually excellent all year round. There is abundant birdlife and kangaroos also frequent the course.

Visitors and casual golfers are most welcome to the relaxed country atmosphere, where the fairways are uncrowded and the green fees are moderate. The clubhouse has a spacious bar and seating for up to 140 people with views over the course, all in air conditioned comfort. Local wine tastings can be arranged on request.

Junior Golfers: Two Mount Gambier Golf Club members were selected in 2010 for the Golf South Australia Junior State Squad. Read more here.

Mt Gambier
Described as the city of 'craters, lakes and caves', Mount Gambier was built on the slopes of an extinct volcano. See the remarkable Blue Lake, which has filled the largest of three volcanic craters and puts on a real show from November, when the water becomes a brilliant turquoise blue.
