Riverland Golf Association

History
During the early 1920s several small clubs were formed in what was then known as 'The Upper Murray of Sth Australia'. The first 'Upper Murray Championship' was held in 1925. The name 'Upper Murray' was dropped in 1971, at the time of the region's name change to Riverland. Today the Riverland Golf Association includes the clubs of Barmera, Berri, Loxton, Renmark and Waikerie. From these clubs, an executive committee of representatives is elected annually to oversee the events of the year ahead.

The programme includes Opening Days, Interclub Matches and Open Championships held by each member club plus 4 Riverland Championships, Match Play, Men's Foursomes, Mixed Foursomes and Junior. The delegates also fix dates and venues for a series of pennant matches.

Riverland Junior Golfers
Each club has a junior development officer, and the executive committee seeks their advice and recommendations in arranging coaching clinics, and annual Junior Championship, and in most years, a junior pennant programme.
